Session 8: CHRISTMAS

Isaiah 7: 14 (ESV) – Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel 以马内利
Isaiah 7:14 All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
This sign is miraculous. A Son born of a virgin! A gift from God to be “Immanuel“ to mankind.
I used the Chinese hieroglyph “子” to represent God’s beloved Son gifted to us. I painted it in white to symbolize the holiness of Jesus who became a sacrifice for the sins of man.
This world is in darkness. We need the light from heaven to guide us back to God. A Son came down from heaven to earth. He gave up all the glory to become a son of man. He came as Immanuel and lived among us.
This is only possible because we have a God who loves us immensely. I drew the image of a red rose to represent the sacrificial love of God. This is the joy and hope that we can experience during Christmas.

Today, the Word revealed a sign ~ No Condemnation. What Satan twisted long ago, this very hour disentangled and released. Freedom flowed with the gracious account. And didn’t our hearts burn within us?
